2027 Nissan Z

2027 Nissan Z

Nissan’s two-seat sports car enters 2027 with its biggest driver-focused update in years: an available six-speed manual transmission for Z NISMO, joining the manual gearbox already standard across Sport and Performance. Alongside that mechanical news, the whole lineup gets a heritage-inspired front-end refresh, referencing design cues from the S30 and 300ZX generations, plus a new Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic paint option and a tan interior for Performance grade. NISMO also picks up lighter, GT-R-derived front brake rotors and retuned suspension to match. The 2027 Z is on the ground now at South London Nissan, where drivers throughout the London area can compare the Sport, Performance, and NISMO grades side by side and get behind the wheel of either transmission.

What’s new on the 2027 Nissan Z?

Exterior

Z’s front fascia has been reshaped around a new split grille with a body-colour bar through the centre, a direct reference to the original 240Z, known internally as the S30. A Z emblem now stands in place of the Nissan badge on the nose across every grade, echoing a detail last seen on the S30, S130, Z31, and Z32. Engineers adjusted the front parking sensor layout to work within the new grille shape while keeping cooling performance unchanged.

Performance grade gains redesigned 19-inch forged wheels for 2027, finished in black spokes with a machined rim, wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza tires. Both Sport and Performance can be ordered in the new Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic, a colour built from fine yellow and blue pigments for fade resistance and paired exclusively with a Super Black roof; the shade takes its cue from Grand Prix Green, a colour once offered on the S30. It’s a look that stands out whether parked downtown near Richmond Row or on a highway pull-off outside the city.

Interior

The cabin remains a 2-passenger layout built around driver focus, with an 8-inch touchscreen and a fully digital TFT gauge cluster standard across the range. A 3-bay instrument panel gauge, reading turbo boost, turbine speed, and voltmeter, is included on every grade in addition to the primary digital display. Sport grade uses black woven cloth seats with an 8-way manual driver’s seat, while Performance moves to synthetic suede inserts or full leather-appointed seating, a heated driver’s seat, and seat cushion and bolster shaping unique to that grade.

Performance grade also introduces a tan interior for 2027, matched with the S30’s original colour palette and offered against a black upper dash and door trim for contrast. At the top of the range, NISMO uses leather-and-Alcantara Recaro seats developed specifically for that model, along with NISMO-branded interior trim. The digital meter display adds a new startup sequence on Sport and Performance that runs through seven generations of Z history, while NISMO keeps its own distinct startup graphics and animation.

Powertrain

A 3.0L twin-turbocharged VR30DDTT V6 powers every 2027 Z, built with a DOHC head, direct injection, and Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control. Sport and Performance grades produce 400 horsepower with 350 lb-ft of torque, while the NISMO-tuned version of the same engine reaches 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. A revised fuel tank design across the lineup helps keep fuel near the pump during sustained high-G cornering, supporting consistent delivery under hard driving.

The standout mechanical news for 2027 is the new six-speed manual available on Z NISMO, engineered with a shorter shift lever ratio and an upgraded clutch, plus manual-specific throttle and ignition tuning for sharper response. That manual joins the 6-speed close-ratio gearbox with an EXEDY high-performance clutch already standard across Sport and Performance, both of which also offer a 9-speed automatic. Drive layout throughout the lineup is mid-mounted front-engine, rear-wheel drive, with a mechanical limited-slip differential standard on Performance and NISMO.

Infotainment & Audio

An 8-inch touchscreen anchors every 2027 Z, running Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth audio streaming and hands-free calling, Siri Eyes Free, hands-free text messaging, and voice recognition. Sport grade includes a 6-speaker Nissan audio system, while Performance and NISMO step up to an 8-speaker Bose system with Active Noise Cancellation and Active Sound Enhancement, both retuned for 2027 to amplify intake and exhaust tones in Sport mode when paired with the manual transmission. Performance and NISMO also add NissanConnect with WiFi hotspot access and NissanConnect Services telematics.

Safety technology is standard across the board, including Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, along with Intelligent Cruise Control, a RearView Monitor, and front and rear parking sensors. A new Qi2 wireless charger is available on Performance and NISMO, offering 15-watt charging with magnetic alignment and a cooling fan to manage device heat during longer drives.

Versions

Three grades make up the 2027 Z lineup. Z Sport is the base model, running 18-inch Gray Metallic alloy wheels on Yokohama ADVAN Sport tires with fixed 2-piston front and single-piston rear calipers. Z Performance adds 19-inch RAYS forged wheels, Bridgestone Potenza tires, larger floating 4-piston front and 2-piston rear calipers in red, a front chin spoiler, rear spoiler, heated mirrors, and the option of the new tan interior. Z NISMO tops the range with NISMO-tuned suspension and steering, two-piece GT-R-derived front brake rotors that cut 19 pounds of weight, a three-piece rear spoiler, black “katana” blade trim, and NISMO-specific fascias, grille, and side sills, now available with either the new six-speed manual or the NISMO-tuned 9-speed automatic.
